In November of 1999 the Derby Town Clerk’s Office began processing Motor Vehicle Registration renewals in an effort to generate additional income for the purpose of restoring the Town Of Derby Land records.
The Town Clerk’s Office may process Motor Vehicle Registration Renewals for the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Town Clerk’s Office is not authorized to process new registrations.
To renew your registration at the Town Clerk’s Office you will need to bring the following:
*Your registration renewal form you received from the DMV
*A check or money order payable to the Department of Motor Vehicles
*$3.00 for each registration payable to the Town of Derby (may be cash or check)

MANY TOWN CLERKS PROCESS REGISTRATION RENEWALS
We can renew selected motor vehicle registrations and you will receive temporary 30-day “R” stickers. All preprinted computer generated “Registration Renewals” with current month or up to 2 previous month(s) expiration (including motorboat registrations and snowmobile registrations) will be processed with the following exceptions:
*Truck 55,099 lbs or more
Oversize/Overweight permits
International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
IRP (Apportioned) Registrations
Only changes to owner(s) address and vehicle color are allowed
Only preprinted renewal forms will be accepted.
Only renewals with current month or up to 2 previous month(s) expiration s will be accepted.
Renewals will be processed only during regular Town Clerk hours.
