PARK(ing) Day: On Friday, September 17th the Newport Parks & Recreation Department will be taking over a parking spot on Main Street and converting it into a public park for the day. Come visit us in front of the Municipal Building and recreate in our PARK(ing) spot. This is a fundraiser and parks & recreation awareness event.
Youth Dances: Join the Newport Parks & Recreation Department for a series of dances for kids in grades 4-6 at the Newport Municipal Building from 7-9pm. First dance is scheduled for September 17th. Open Mic: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month at the Gateway Center in downtown Newport. Join John Royer and company for an evening of music and collaboration from 6:30pm - 9:30pm. For more information call John Royer at 334-6888.
Volleyball: The Newport Parks & Recreation Department is seeking teams and individuals to play in their 2010 Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League. The season will begin on Monday, September 13th with games starting at 6pm. The Parks & Recreation Department will take up to 16 teams and each team must have 2 females on the court at all times. Gateway Craft Show: Teaming up with Art on Main and the bi-annual Quilt show (in the Municipal Building), we are hosting crafters in the Gateway Center from 10am to 4pm on Saturday September 25th in Downtown Newport.
